Year Ender Vacation pt. 2

Day 2(Dec 29, 2011): Laoag

This was my least favorite day. Partly because I hated the shirt that I was wearing that I was subjected by my mom to wear on that day. I also didn’t like the place where we had lunch. They didn’t have a lot of things that were on their menu so I was irritated and I refused to eat anything from the restaurant.

First we went to Ferdinand Marcos‘ Presidential Center. It was a museum about Marcos from his birth to death. Then we got to see his “body” which still hasn’t been buried. His body was covered in wax to preserve it, til  they rightfully bury him in this certain cemetery wherein his family would like him to be buried.

We traveled to Paoay Church but before we start taking pictures we had to eat lunch first. Anyway I didn’t eat. I did taste this meal that my dad ordered for me but I didn’t like it because it tasted like ginger and I hate the taste of ginger so he finished it himself. So eventually after waiting for like an hour in the restaurant we went to Paoay Church (which was across the restaurant) and finally took some pictures. It was around 1pm during that time so it was pretty sunny and bright. We were posing in this stone wall and it was hard because the surface was so hot and I was wearing shorts so I really felt the burn. It was hard to look at the camera, I didn’t have shades so my eyes were squinting in almost every shot.

We stopped over at some supposed “Sand Dune” place. I kind of expected it to be desert like. The place was near a lake and their was some sand and then loads of grass and plants. So it was no sand dune. Anyway we passed by another “Sand Dune”, I didn’t see it my dad merely told me about it while we passed by it and I was lying down so I didn’t see it. So we reached our next destination, The Malacanang of the North, it was one of Marcos’ rest house. The estate was really big and the view from the balcony was awesome especially during the time we were there. Anyway it was a big empty house and nobody lives there anymore. Tourists pass by during the day but during the hour where everyone sleeps, it’s a lonely, hallow place.

Our last stop for the day was Fort Ilocandia Resort wherein we bought me my first but shared pair of shades. We thought the place would be fun but we weren’t able to get around because other than the lobby and restaurant the other places were for guests only. So we just went to the place where we’ll be staying Balay de Blas. It was an upgrade from our dormitory room at Grandpa’s Inn. But I liked our breakfast at Grandpa’s more, their hot chocolate and calamansi juice were especially good.

The bed was nice. I wish I was able to sleep on the bed but the bed was for my mom and dad.
